I rescued Shasta from an animal shelter. She had been there a month and was terrified. I connected with her loneliness. She was a wonderful dog for 12 years. Only the last few months did she suffer. When I saw the pain and fear in her eyes, despite increasing medications, I felt I had no choice. I miss the happy, bouncy Shasta not the pained Shasta. Life is painful and this loss is overwhelming. I miss her dearly.
